‘Kingchoom Pundi Lepcha Scholarship Fund, Kalimpong’

Kingchoom Pundi Lepcha Scholarship Fund, Kalimpong was established by the Indigenous Lepcha Tribal Association, Headquarters Kalimpong on 06 August 2010 with the financial assistance from Renyoo Jyotsna Sitling Lepcha IFS and Ren S.T.S Simick Lepcha IFS and their friends from Uttarakhand and last but by no means least, M. Charitable Trust,UK.  This Association acknowledges their original idea to establish the Fund and giving financial help to start the project.
The aim and objective of the trust is to help, assist, encourage, boost and inspire brainy, brilliant and ambitious financially weak Lepcha students, male or female, from remote Lepcha villages who are studying in Class x and xii and sitting for the final examinations in the Darjeeling Hills, West Bengal.
The ‘Kingchoom Pundi Lepcha Scholarship Fund, Kalimpong’  gave financial assistance of Rs 2000.00(two thousand) to start with to the following very deserving Class xii Lepcha students during the King Gaeboo Achyok Birth Anniversary on 20 December 2010 at Mela Ground, Kalimpong:

1.  Panchamit Rongmit - Mirik, Darjeeling
    Mirik Higher Secondary School, Mirik

2.  Suk Tshering Rong Kup - Mirik, Darjeeling
    Murmah Higher Secondary School, Darjeeling

3.  Rajadh Rong Kup - Mirik, Darjeeling
    Rabindranath Higher Secondary School, Mirik

4.  Nikit Rongmit - Mamring, Sittong, Kurseong
   St. Alphonsus Higher Secondary School, Kurseong

5.  Bigen Tshering Rong Kup - Sittong, Kurseong
    Saraswati Higher Secondary School, Mungpoo, Darjeeling

6.  Jongmit Rongmit - Upper Pochaok, Git-Dabling, Kalimpong
    Pranami Balika Vidhya Mandir, Kalimpong

7.  Lenmit Rongmit -  Upper Pochaok, Git-Dabling, Kalimpong
    Pranami Balika Vidhya Mandir, Kalimpong

The Indigenous Lepcha Tribal Association, Headquarters Kalimpong is standing behind the Lepcha students who are willing to work very hard to acquire quality education and determined to do well in their life and for Lepcha community.  This Association very warmly congratulate the above recipients of Kingchoom Pundi Lepcha Scholarship for the year 2010-2011.

The mission being undertaken by the Indigenous Lepcha Tribal Association, HQ Kalimpong is great and historical one which will definitely boost the morale of our genious Lepcha children who have stood outstanding in their pursuit of school studies with excellence and help them carry out further higher studies. These children are the pillars of our society who will undoubtedly pay back to the society as well.
